Our Mission

To improve the quality of life of the citizens of Bernalillo County by reducing crime through the thoughtful enforcement of the law and the development of a criminal justice system that reflects the values and priorities of this community.

Who We Are

The Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office is the largest law firm in New Mexico. Unlike other law firms, the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office only has one client: you, the People of New Mexico.

We are a team of attorneys, paralegals, investigators, victim advocates and legal support staff who are all dedicated to making this community safer.

What We Do

This dedicated team of professionals evaluates the approximately 25,000 cases a year that are referred to the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office by law enforcement partners in the Albuquerque Police Department, Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department, New Mexico State Police and other police agencies. The Office brings criminal cases on approximately 18,000 of the referrals per year. Despite the staggering volume of cases, our team works hard every day to represent the people in the prosecution criminals.
