ALBUQUERQUE - Today, the Bernalillo County District Attorney Raúl Torrez appeared in court in response to Special Prosecutor Randi McGinn's motion to rescind the disqualification of the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office in the James Boyd case. District Attorney Torrez  requested that the disqualification of the Bernalillo County District Attorney, along with his entire office, be rescinded. The District Court Judge agreed and rescinded the disqualification.

No decision has been made whether to retry the case. District Attorney Torrez is awaiting the recommendation from the independent panel of seven district attorneys' offices from across the state. Those offices began their review in late December and their recommendation is expected later this month.
