Man sentenced for community center shooting

Damian Hidalgo was sentenced to 8 years in the Department of Corrections for the 2016 murder of Jerry Trejo.  Hidalgo received the six years that come with voluntary manslaughter, plus one for the use of a firearm and another for tampering with evidence. Hidalgo pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in February and, under his agreement, he faced between five and 10 years.
